Ajman fc surprised their host Al-Ain at their Hazza Bin Zayed home Stadium today, Saturday, winning with a clean goal; the Orange brigade booked their seat in the quarter-finals of the President's Cup.
Ajman owes their precious victory over Al-Zaeem to their Ghanaian striker William Owusu, who scored the game's only goal in the 44 minute with a wonderful scissor kick into the home of team’s net.
The match went through a quiet period two teams who were hesitant to attack, before Ajman’s striker Hussain Abdul Rahman threatened Al Ain’s goal in the 13 minute with a strong shot that passed by the left post of Khaled Issa's goal.
Wilson Eduardo and Ryan shot dangerous balls on Ajman's goal, but they did not change the scenario of the first half in which the guest played a good match in terms of spreading, organization and balance, aided by the good form of the offensive duo, William Owusu and Hussein Abdulrahman.
On the 44 minute, William Owusu put his team ahead with a wonderful left kick following a cross by Hussein Abdulrahman from the right side, ending the first half with a goal for Ajman
At the start of the second half, Al Ain’s coach pushed two cards in defence and offence, with Fahd Hadid entering as a substitute for Ahmed Berman and Brazilian Eric as a substitute for Salem Abdullah, the left back who received a yellow card in the first half.
Al Ain pressed hard to return to the game but Ajman’s goalkeeper Ali Al Hosni brilliantly blocked a missile shot from substitute Fahad Hadid on the 48 minute to off the field denying the most dangerous opportunity by Al-Ain.
